WHAT: Autism Speaks is evolving its Community Walk to introduce a newly designed “Field Day for All” in 12 cities nationwide, including Austin, where it will work alongside local organizations to bring critical funds, resources and support services where they matter most.
The Field Day for All events will be a day filled with activities that cater to the diverse needs of the spectrum with participating local organizations, interactive games, educational workshops and sensory-friendly experiences – making the event a space where every participant feels included, valued, and connected.
Autism Speaks is creating the largest one-stop-shop for resources dedicated to supporting the autism community. Field Day for All will bring families together with local organizations in one centralized place that’s close to home, giving the local autistic community the ability to access much needed support services and information, such as direct service providers and employment resources, right onsite.
With the introduction of this collaborative model, participating local organizations will have the opportunity to leverage Field Day for All to drive fundraising for their organizations. Eligible organizations will receive 70% of the funds raised. Autism Speaks will cover the overhead costs associated with the events, eliminating the barriers that smaller organizations often face when trying to raise money on their own.
