Pittsfield Police investigate three shootings
Pittsfield Police are investigating three shootings and believe two of the shootings are related. No one is in custody, and all victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
PITTSFIELD, Mass. (NEWS10)-- Pittsfield Police are investigating three shootings and believe two of the shootings are related. No one is in custody, and all victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, on Wednesday, officers responded to the 100 block of First Street for a 34-year-old man who had been shot at 7:30 p.m. The victim was transported to Berkshire Medical Center for treatment.
On Thursday, at 11:30 p.m., police responded to a ShotSpotter activation on the 20 block of Pleasant Street in addition to calls from neighbors reporting shots being fired. Police said they found an 18-year-old with a gunshot wound who was also transported to Berkshire Medical Center for treatment.
An hour after the 20 block of Pleasant Street shooting, police responded to the same block for another ShotSpotter activation and reports of shots fired. Police said they recovered shell casings on the scene and were called to Berkshire Medical Center at 1:40 a.m. for a 37-year-old man who was in the emergency room with a gunshot wound.
Police said they believe the two 20 block of Pleasant Street shootings are related. Police also said they aren't sure if the First Street shooting is connected to the other shootings, and none of them appear to be random acts of violence.
