Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle in San Francisco Friday

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A pedestrian was killed Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle in San Francisco’s Western Addition neighborhood, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
The crash occurred at around 6:52 a.m. in the area of Geary Boulevard and Divisadero Street. San Francisco Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and paramedics transported the pedestrian to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
The pedestrian succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, SFPD said. Police do not believe alcohol or drugs are a factor in the fatal collision.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area as investigators remain at the scene.
On Tuesday morning, a 70-year-old man was killed by a large construction vehicle in the area of Parnassus Avenue and Stanyan Street.
