A Los Angeles County Fire truck overturned, injuring three of its crew members, while en route to a rescue call in the San Gabriel Mountains on Sunday evening.
Fire officials said it happened around 5:39 p.m. on Highway 39 near the San Gabriel Reservoir.
According to initial reports, the driver was attempting to straighten back out after Engine 32 slightly veered off the road, but the truck "fishtailed," causing the driver to lose control as the truck overturned and landed on its side.
L.A.Co Fire said there were injuries to three personnel on board and they were transported with minor injuries. No other vehicles were involved.
Details are limited, it was not immediately made clear what caused the truck to veer off the road. Furthermore, officials did not disclose what the rescue call was for that the fire crew was heading towards, or if it was resolved.
California Highway Patrol and Caltrans responded and closed all north and southbound lanes at the site of the crash. CHP reported on X at 6:37 p.m. that the highway was expected to reopen after three hours.
There are also reports of a possible oil spill from the collision, according to CHP.
CHP is asking drivers to avoid the area and drive with caution.
