Frost unveil first branded uniforms
Minnesota's PWHL team is scheduled to have its first training camp practice Nov. 14 in St. Paul.
The Frost unveiled their first branded uniforms on Thursday, two months after announcing their nickname.
Minnesota’s Professional Women’s Hockey League franchise will play its home games at Xcel Energy Center wearing purple sweaters with a white yoke featuring the team’s icy “F” logo. The away jerseys are color reversed.
“The logo and colors are fierce, bold, and fun, which are three words I would use to describe the team,” team captain Kendall Coyne Schofield said in a release. “I am really excited for the Minnesota Frost to become a household name in the world of professional sports.”
Minnesota won the inaugural PWHL championship, taking home the Walter Cup after defeating Toronto in the finals. They are scheduled to open training camp with their first practice Nov. 14 at TRIA Rink.
This is the first season the league’s six teams have nicknames; they were known last season only as PWHL Minnesota, Boston, Montreal, New York, Ottawa and Toronto.
Nicknames were announced on Sept. 9.
“It is exciting to see the league take another step forward and give each of our teams an identity,” Frost head coach Ken Klee said in the league’s release. “I love the color scheme and the sharp edges that reflect the attitude you need to succeed on the ice. I can’t wait to see those uniforms in front of our great fans this season.”
The Frost are scheduled to play preseason games against Toronto and New York Nov. 20-21 in Toronto before opening the regular season Dec. 1 against New York at the X.
