Washington County man charged with raping a minor
The Washington County Sheriff's Office reported that an arrest has been made in a longstanding sex crime investigation.
SALEM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office reported that an arrest has been made in a longstanding sex crime investigation. Glen Gillis Jr., 28, was charged with second and third-degree rape.
According to the sheriff's office, Gillis is accused of having sex with a minor two different times at residences in Easton and Salem back in April and September of 2020. The child was 15 and 16 years old respectively at the times of the separate incidents.
Gillis, who was 24 in 2020, was located at a home in Salem on November 1, where deputies took him into custody in connection to the investigation. He was arraigned at Washington County Centralized Arraignment before being released on his own recognizance. The investigation remains ongoing.
