Missouri voters prepare for extensive November ballot

ST. LOUIS – Missouri voters are gearing up for one of the most extensive ballots in recent state history this November, as several high-profile issues are poised to shape the future of state policy.

With the potential for longer polling lines and extended voting times, particularly in larger precincts, Missourians are taking steps to be well-prepared before stepping into the booth.

One of the most prominent issues on the ballot is a proposed constitutional amendment that would protect abortion rights, ensuring access to reproductive care, including abortion and contraception, up until fetal viability. If passed, this measure would overturn the state's current abortion ban, making Missouri one of the first states to reverse such a law through a citizen-led initiative.

“This isn’t just about next year – this is about the future,” said Ellie, a voter from St. Louis. “It’s about the future for young women and women in general, and I think that’s really important. People really need to get out and vote.”

Another hot topic is sports wagering, with voters deciding whether to capitalize on the growing revenue from sports betting, following the example of several neighboring states. Additionally, there is a proposition on the ballot to increase the state’s minimum wage. The measure includes provisions for paid time off based on hours worked, marking the third time Missouri voters have been asked to consider a wage hike in recent years.

St. Louis voter Marty emphasized the importance of careful consideration, telling Fox 2, “Make sure you’re paying attention to everything that’s being stated and said in the ballots. You want to make sure you get the right person in there, especially with everything going on.”

In addition to these high-profile issues, voters will also weigh in on other key proposals, including limiting voting rights to U.S. citizens and making changes to law enforcement funding. The combination of constitutional amendments and statutory propositions makes this ballot particularly comprehensive and impactful.
