Walrus Testnet: Decentralized Storage Backed by Sui Network

Walrus is a decentralized storage platform built for security, efficiency, and durability. It lets users store large files like media, AI datasets, and blockchain history at an affordable price. With fast read and write speeds, it’s ideal for applications that need dependable and scalable storage. The project has launched a public testnet on the Sui blockchain and has already received support from Sui Network on their official X account.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Firstly, we need to download Sui wallet
2. Login with your email
3. Click on the gear icon in the top right corner. Then, click on “Network” and select Testnet.
4. Next, we need to get test Sui tokens. Copy your Sui wallet address and go to website
5. Enter your wallet address and click “Give me sui!”
6. Now we should swap our test Sui to Wal tokens. Go to website
7. Connect Sui wallet. Click “Get Wal”.
8. Enter the number of tokens you want to swap for Wal (Walrus) tokens. We recommend making multiple swaps at once.
9. Next, Stake your Wal tokens. Minimum stake is 1 WAL

These large files, called blobs, are stored quickly and securely using Walrus’s resilient, scalable, and programmable storage. • A full tokenomics system for WAL, including epoch management, staking, unstaking, and rewards, along with a token faucet for developers.
• A WAL staking app, developed by Mysten Labs.
