(KRON) – It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and many want to deck their homes' halls and exteriors. However, Cal Fire is warning residents that holiday decorations can be a fire hazard.
On Sunday morning, Napa County Fire Station 12 crews extinguished a small fire of an inflatable holiday decoration of a Yountville residence (pictured below).
The department is reminding residents to be mindful that holiday lights and decorations pose a fire risk. Cal Fire informed residents to not overload electrical sockets and to ensure that no light cords are frayed or broken.
Residents are also advised to not string together more lights together than the manufacturer recommends.
