(KRON) -- A 20-year-old man who fled from Brentwood officers during a traffic stop last week was arrested after crashing the vehicle during the pursuit, the Brentwood Police Department said Monday.
The driver, identified as Tarrance Anderson, 20, of Pittsburg, was stopped by police near Lone Tree Way and Slatten Ranch Road for a vehicle code violation. Officers learned that Anderson was on probation for theft and was driving without a license, Brentwood PD said. While speaking to officers, police said that Anderson suddenly fled in the vehicle at a high rate of speed.
Shortly after driving off, Anderson crashed the car and fled on foot, according to authorities. Police received a call about a man on the front porch of a residence, and responding officers located Anderson, who was taken into custody.
Brentwood PD said Anderson tossed a loaded firearm during the pursuit, which was recovered. Anderson faces charges for being a convicted person in possession of a loaded firearm, probation violation, hit and run, and evading police, among other related offenses.
