29 arrested, 10 guns seized in recent sting operation in San Bernardino County

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department announced that they made 29 arrests and seized nearly a dozen firearms as part of their ongoing Operation Consequences.

According to an SBSD bulletin, a coalition of law enforcement agencies continued their probe into organized crime rings in and around the city of San Bernardino, including Chino, Fontana and Bloomington, over the last week.

The one-week period culminated in five search warrants being served on Friday at the following locations:

  • 19200 block of 4th Street, Chino
  • 7300 block of Poplar Drive, Fontana
  • 1100 block of West Mill Street, San Bernardino
  • 18800 block of 14th Street, Bloomington
  • 10700 block of Linden Avenue, Bloomington

Investigators contacted gang members and individuals prohibited from possessing guns during the service of the warrants, SBSD said. As a result, a total of 29 people were arrested – 11 on felony charges and 18 on misdemeanors – and 10 firearms, including one ghost gun, were seized.

Illegal narcotics and marijuana were also recovered during the operation, authorities added.

Photos released by the sheriff's department show several long guns were seized, in addition to multiple handguns and drugs.

Operation Consequences focuses on conducting targeted crime suppression operations as well as parole and probation checks throughout the High Desert.

The operation includes personnel from the SBSD’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division and local patrol stations. Also involved in the operation is the California Highway Patrol, the San Bernardino County Probation Department, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations.

The operation is set to continue through the next several months to curb violent crime, disrupt and dismantle targeted criminal street gangs and locate and arrest criminals who are illegally possessing, manufacturing and trafficking firearms, SBSD said.
