ST. LOUIS - Lambert Airport did reach 86 on Tuesday, matching the record high set in 2016. It will be windy and warm again Wednesday, with highs in the low to mid 80s.
A cold front arrives into the early morning hours of Thursday with some much-needed rain. Showers and thunderstorms will be likely between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Halloween. Some storms could be strong to severe, with damaging wind gusts the main threat. An isolated tornado can’t be ruled out. The threat for stronger storms will be higher farther west.
Storms will exit the region by mid-morning, leaving us with decreasing clouds and easing winds on Thursday afternoon. Colder air will settle in with the rainfall. Temperatures Thursday afternoon will be in the 60s. Trick-or-treat temperature will be in the 50s.
Dry and cooler Friday and much of Saturday. Watching for more rain Saturday night and Sunday and again on Election Day Tuesday.
Reminder: This is a time-change weekend. Daylight Saving Time ends, and we turn our clocks back one hour Saturday night before bed.
