DENVER (KDVR) -- A woman was arrested on multiple charges after law enforcement said she led police on a chase in a stolen truck on Interstate 70 earlier this week.

The pursuit happened Tuesday night after an officer with the Idaho Springs Police Department attempted a traffic stop at 10:38 p.m. near mile marker 243 on westbound I-70.

"The motorist was driving erratically in a vehicle with no license plates," the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office said in a post on Facebook.

The sheriff's office posted a video of the pursuit, in which the vehicle is seen weaving through lanes on the interstate with hazard lights on while police followed with lights and sirens on.

The sheriff's office said the driver did not stop for the police officer and continued driving erratically through the construction zone near the Veterans Memorial Tunnel.

A slow-speed pursuit at about 45 mph ensued. The driver got off of the interstate at Exit 240 and ran the stop sign on the exit ramp before turning left and entering I-70 eastbound, according to the sheriff's office.

The driver continued eastbound, driving in both lanes of traffic and ignoring lights and sirens to pull over. Just before the tunnel, the driver entered the two left lanes of traffic that were closed for construction," the sheriff's office wrote in the post.

That's when the sheriff's office joined police in the pursuit. Deputies were worried that the driver would continue the erratic driving in the overnight construction zone at Floyd Hill, so they initiated a Tactical Vehicle Intervention. This helped stop the vehicle 10 minutes after the initial attempted traffic stop at mile marker 243.

Investigators learned the vehicle was stolen from Denver earlier that evening and found drugs, drug paraphernalia and an open container of alcohol inside.

The sheriff's office said the woman driving the truck was arrested on multiple charges including aggregated motor vehicle theft, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving, vehicular eluding, obstructing a peace officer, open alcoholic beverage container in a vehicle and no license plates.
