Unregistered firearm found during Vallejo arrest: police

(KRON) – An unregistered gun was found in an arrest in Vallejo on Saturday, according to the Vallejo Police Department. 

Vallejo police officers were notified of an armed individual standing next to a red vehicle. Police were informed the person was in a parking lot on the 200 block of Tennessee Street. 

The department’s communications operators received a notification from its audio detection device that there was a shooting in the same block. 

Responding officers found a man standing beside a red, unoccupied vehicle. While making contact with the subject, officers said they noticed shell casing on the ground. VPD said the man admitted he had a gun in his pocket. 

Police said officers removed the gun and discovered it was unregistered. The casing and gun were collected for evidence, according to VPD.

 The man was arrested and booked into the county jail.
