Tron’s (TRX) super representative which was elected by the community in 2018, BiTorrent, is reported to be forging a new path with the integration of Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) to apply the principle of decentralization from the blockchain ecosystem to real-world infrastructure. According to the report, the decentralized file storage and sharing system of BitTorrent File System (BTFS) appears in line with the core of DePIN.

The BTFS encryption method is said to boast several unique security features coupled with blockchain productivity, including file encryption and sharing, symmetric encryption, and on-chain innovation.
With file encryption and sharing, BTFS enables users to store and share files securely on publicly accessible networks. It has also adopted methods for file encryption and decryption via the BTIP-52 proposal. This enables users to upload private files to themselves or others to ensure data privacy and security.
Under symmetric encryption, BTIP-52 is used as a foundation, with BTIP-72 providing users with options. This ensures that files have an extra layer of protection via a symmetric encryption algorithm.
With the on-chain innovation, integrating BTFS’s encryption strategy with DePINs ensures that a new example for on-chain innovation is set. In addition to improving the working efficiency of blockchain infrastructure, BTFS also strengthens data security by deploying symmetric and asymmetric encryption strategies.
More on the BTFS and DePIN Integration
To summarize, DePINs extend the use of blockchain technology to physical infrastructure, creating numerous opportunities and immense potential in the real world. The ingenious integration between DePINs and BTFS’s encryption methods takes both on-chain data security and the productivity of blockchain infrastructure to the next level.
BitTorrent File System (BTFS) operates as a protocol and web application that ensures that the content-addressable peer-to-peer mechanisms used to share digital content in a decentralized file system are provided.
Recently, BitTorrent announced the launch of BTFS v3.0 to revolutionize decentralized network architecture. According to the report, this was designed to introduce a significant update – the storage reward halving.
As the BTFS network grows, the halving mechanism is expected to contribute to the ecosystem’s sustainable and reliable growth. This update aligns with the broader vision of DePIN, providing a solid foundation for the proliferation of decentralized networks. BTFS continues to be a leader in the DePIN space, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing decentralized physical infrastructure networks. The improved token economics of BTFS v3.0 support the DePIN vision, positioning BTFS for an increasingly significant role in the decentralized world.
At press time, TRX was trading at $0.12 after declining by 0.12% in the last 24 hours and surging by 5.3% in the last seven days.
