DENVER (KDVR) — Winter has officially arrived in Colorado, and with ski areas open across the state, there is more to do than just skiing and snowboarding.

Once you overcome the traffic troubles on Interstate 70, you can spend the day skiing, snowboarding or enjoying a day exploring Après-ski bars. But if you are looking for a snow activity that doesn't involve a ton of skill, snow tubing is a great option for the whole family.

USA Today searched the United States for the best places to go snow tubing, and experts and readers listed the top 10 locations. Two Colorado spots made the list.

No. 8: Coca-Cola Tube Hill at Winter Park Resort

About an hour and a half west of Denver sits the Coca-Cola Tube Hill in Winter Park. According to USA Today, this tubing hill is the eighth-best in the U.S.

The Coca-Cola Tube Hill has multiple lanes where riders can fly down the mountain.

The worst part of tubing can be the work it takes to get back up the mountain; Winter Park Resort made that process easy for guests with a covered conveyor lift that takes you and your tube back to the top.

"Ride around the twists and turns at full speed in the fast lane, or meander down on a slower path. Plus, on select nights throughout the season, the park offers night tubing," said USA Today.

The tubing hill is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. One-hour time slots can be purchased online with prices starting at around $45.

No. 7: Copper Mountain's Tubing Hill presented by bubly

The seventh-best tubing hill in the U.S. goes to Copper Mountain.

According to Copper Mountain, their hills elevate the tubing game with banked turns that "make it nearly impossible not to beam all the way down."

Aside from the tubing, guests can warm up with hot chocolate in between runs -- a highlight from USA Today. Copper Mountain offers a "magic carpet" that carries guests and their tubes back up the mountain.

However, tubing enthusiasts will have to wait a little longer to enjoy the runs at Copper. According to the resort, the tubing hill will open in late December.

The tubing hill is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in one-hour increments.

While Colorado is known for its winter activities, if you are traveling this winter, these other tubing hills made USA Today's 10 best list.

  1. Camelback Resort - Tannersville, Pennsylvania
  2. Wintergreen Resort - Wintergreen, Virginia
  3. Tahoe Donner Snowplay - Truckee, California
