ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - St. Louis County Executive Dr. Sam Page has been appointed Ambur Banner as the county's Director of the Human Services Department, according to a press release.

In the new role, Banner will oversee programming like workforce development, the Weinman Shelter, and community development. Banner will also provide leadership for programs serving the youth, veterans, and older residents.

Banner initially joined St. Louis County in Dec. 2023, serving as the Acting Director and Deputy Director of the county's Human Services Department. Banner will now serve as the full-time director, continuing her work in leading major initiatives.

“Ambur’s extensive background in both public health and human services makes her an exceptional leader to serve the residents of Saint Louis County,” Dr. Page said. “With her at the helm, the department will continue to build impactful partnerships to ensure our communities receive the support they need to thrive.”

Before joining St. Louis County in Dec. 2023, Banner served as the Deputy Director of Public Health for a local health department in Kansas. Under that role, Banner was able to bring leadership in planning and operations, community health, and environmental health departments.
