SLINGERLANDS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two Little Dumplings, a family-owned business in Slingerlands, is raising money to help make the move from an at-home and pop-up venture to having a dedicated storefront. The dumpling shop is planning to open in the currently unfinished space at The Grove at 400 Maple Road in New Scotland.

Two Little Dumplings was started during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 by Jeanne Lee, Brian Yung and James Lee. Jeanne and Brian are married, while James is Jeanne's brother. Other family members help out too, including Jeanne's parents and children.

The business is known for offering a variety of frozen baos, dumplings, sauces, and seasonal desserts. Customers can place an order on the Two Little Dumplings website and get their order at the pick-up only location on Maher Road. Their products can also be found at pop-ups around the Capital Region.

Two Little Dumplings recently started a fundraiser to help open the new space on Maple Road. Currently, they have raised more than $7,000 and are looking to raise $25,000. They are hoping to have the storefront open in early 2025.

"The fundraiser is going towards some of the costs of the construction, equipment purchases, and furnishings for the store," Jeanne Lee told NEWS10. "We have set aside savings to pay for the majority of the big ticket items. The donations alleviate the additional expenses that come up as we move into each phase of the store buildout."

Every donation to the fundraiser includes a "Thank You" gift depending on the donation amount. Gifts include sticker sheets, Thank You notes, stationery cards, bao ornaments, cooler bags, soft opening invites, and more. You can check out and donate to the fundraiser on the Two Little Dumplings website.

In the new space, the owners plan to keep selling frozen dumplings for customers to go home and cook. Over time, they plan to offer dine-in and ready-to-eat hot foods, and expand their product offerings. Jeanne Lee said they eventually want to have dumpling, bao and mooncake making classes as well.

"We would not have had the courage to take this leap of faith without the support of our customers and community," said Jeanne Lee. "We want to thank everyone for your part in helping us accomplish more than we ever could have alone."
