SCOTIA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Scotia-Glenville Board of Education officially appointed a new Glen-Worden Elementary principal following the death of former principal Nicholas Criscone. Andrea Polikoski began her first day on Thursday.
Polikoski previously served as Principal of Schoharie Elementary School for nearly a decade, according to the school district. She has a New York State professional certification as a School Building Leader and a permanent certification for pre-k through sixth grade.
The new principal has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from SUNY Oswego and a Master of Science in Education Psychology from the College of Saint Rose.
“I am committed to fostering a school atmosphere that is both inviting and secure, highlighting the significance of nurturing relationships and knowledge. This approach enables our learners to reach their full potential. Balance is essential, and in recognition of the dedication shown by our students, staff, and families, I strive to create joyful moments through unique celebrations—whether it’s dance parties, adventure clubs, or family carnivals,” Polikoski said.
