(KRON) – Two Santa Rosa police officers were injured in arresting two suspects on Saturday night, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.
At 11 p.m. on Saturday, Santa Rosa police officers pulled over a vehicle in the 2300 block of McBride Lane. Police said they had probable cause and received consent to search the car.
Police said one of the passengers, who was a minor, resisted the officers and attempted to flee the scene. Police said two officers suffered minor injuries detaining the underage individual. The officers found a loaded .45 caliber Glock 19 handgun and brass knuckles on the suspect, according to Santa Rosa PD.
Police also found a loaded, stolen .22 caliber revolver inside the vehicle. Police determined the firearm belonged to Hopland resident Thomas Shaw.
Shaw was arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of the following charges:
- Possession of an unregistered firearm
- Possession of stolen property
- Concealed firearm in a vehicle
- Felon in possession of ammunition
The teenager was booked into Juvenile Hall on suspicion of the following charges:
- Possession of an unregistered firearm
- Concealed firearm on a person
- Possession of brass knuckles
- Prohibited person in possession of ammunition
- Minor in possession of a firearm
- Battery on a police officer with injury
