SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN) — A man was arrested Friday in connection with the sexually motivated crimes at a San Marcos apartment complex.
The San Marcos Police Department said 31-year-old Patrick Mendoza was arrested on charges of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit other felonies, sexual assault, indecent assault, felony evading in a motor vehicle, two counts of evading on foot and possession of marijuana.
Mendoza was identified as the primary suspect during SMPD’s investigation, and detectives collaborated with probation officers in Bexar County. SMPD said Mendoza was on probation in the county related to previous indecent exposure charges.

According to the department, Mendoza attempted to run away before getting into a vehicle. Following a vehicle pursuit, Mendoza was arrested and evidence related to the reported incidents was collected.
“The department will continue to work with the victims and we ask that anyone with knowledge of Mendoza or these incidents to please contact us,” said San Marcos Police Chief Stan Standridge.
As of Friday afternoon, Mendoza remained booked in the Hays County jail.
