Red Rocks postpones concert ahead of Wednesday snowstorm
Despite cold weather and snowflakes at recent Red Rocks concerts, the amphitheater rescheduled Dustin Lynch's show on Wednesday due to the upcoming storm.
DENVER (KDVR) — Despite cold weather and snowflakes at recent Red Rocks concerts, the amphitheater rescheduled Dustin Lynch's show on Wednesday due to the upcoming storm.
Red Rocks hosts concerts at the outdoor amphitheater throughout most of the year, usually barring the winter months between December and February. While the venue doesn't host performances during the peak winter season, there are chilly shows, especially toward the start or end of the concert season.
The venue most recently posted a snowy video on Halloween, where T-Pain performed alongside hundreds of concertgoers in frosty conditions.
While the concert venue isn't known for rescheduling shows due to weather conditions, Red Rocks announced on Monday that the venue rescheduled Lynch's concert planned for Wednesday night due to "inclement weather."
A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued for Wednesday due to potential slick spots on the roads in the morning after. The storm is expected to last until Wednesday afternoon and taper off by the nighttime. Some areas could collect up to almost a foot of snow. Meanwhile, Denver could see its first measurable snow this season.
"Safety is our top priority, and with the current conditions, we want to ensure the best concert experience possible for everyone," said Red Rocks in an Instagram post.
Lynch posted the same release and uploaded an Instagram story where he thanked everyone who was planning to travel to his show. He mentioned he and his family were heading to the airport when the concert was postponed.
"All the team out there thought it would be wise for us to postpone," said Lynch on his Instagram.
Lynch said Red Rocks is a bucket list show ever since he started playing, and he is planning on coming back to Colorado next year.
