Police investigate shooting at UCHealth Greeley Hospital
The Greeley Police Department told FOX31 that the scene is not an active shooting and police have the incident under control.
DENVER (KDVR) -- A large police presence is at the UCHealth Greeley Hospital Thursday morning after police said there was a shooting in the parking lot.
The Greeley Police Department told FOX31 the incident took place at a parking lot at 29th Street Road and 65th Avenue, which is next to the Highway 34 bypass.
Police said that the scene is not an active shooting and police have the incident under control. The hospital was put on lockdown out of caution, but police said there was no active threat to the hospital.
One witness told FOX31's Courtney Fromm that he pulled into the parking lot just before 8:15 a.m., which is when he heard about four to five gunshots behind his car.
It's unknown if there were any injuries or fatalities. At this time, police aren't able to provide more information about the incident. Fromm is heading to the scene to gather more information.
Police are asking people who have information about this case and have not spoken with officers to contact the Greeley Police Department at (970) 350-9605.
