(BCN) -- Police were able to identify and arrest the suspect in a downtown assault case that happened on Dec. 22, Petaluma PD announced.
William Werner, 30, from Petaluma, was taken into custody on Tuesday.
Werner was issued a felony warrant was issued for assault with a deadly weapon and battery, causing serious bodily injury, police said.
The incident happened on Dec. 22 at around 1:52 a.m. outside the New Yorker restaurant downtown, the police report noted.
The victim was found knocked unconscious and was severely injured in the altercation, according to officers.
Werner was booked into Sonoma County Jail.
