The Nets have agreed to trade Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton to the Los Angeles Lakers for D’Angelo Russell, Maxwell Lewis and three second-round picks.

The news was first reported by ESPN and confirmed by the Daily News. The full trade details have not been released.

The Nets traded Dennis Schröder and a 2025 second-round pick to the Golden State Warriors earlier this month for De’Anthony Melton, Reece Beekman and three unprotected second round draft picks.

The return for Finney-Smith and Milton gives Brooklyn a stabilizing presence at point guard in Russell, another intriguing young prospect in Lewis, and 31 total draft picks over the next seven years — 15 first-round picks and 16 second-round picks.

The Lakers are sending out their own second-round picks in 2027, 2030 and 2031 in the deal, according to ESPN.

Finney-Smith, one of the Nets’ more versatile defenders, averaged 10.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting 45.9% from the field and 43.5% from 3-point range. However, the 31-year-old had been limited to 20 games in 2024-25 because of injuries. He will earn $14.9 million this season and has a $15.3 million player option in 2025-26.

Milton, who had 16 points and 12 assists off the bench in Friday’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs at Barclays Center, averaged 7.4 points and 2.4 assists while shooting 38.9% from deep this season.

Russell was an All-Star with the Nets in 2019. He is on an $18.7 million expiring contract and will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. The 28-year-old is averaging12.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 26.3 minutes per game this season.

Lewis, selected by the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft and later traded to the Lakers, has appeared in seven games this season and 41 total since entering the league. The 22-year-old forward played college basketball at Pepperdine.
