Man with machete robs two men on MetroLink train: Police
Two 21-year-old men were robbed by a machete-wielding man while riding a MetroLink train on Sunday.
ST. LOUIS - Two 21-year-old men were robbed by a machete-wielding man while riding a MetroLink train on Sunday.
According to St. Louis Metropolitan Police, the robbery took place as the train was approaching Central West End station before 3 p.m.
The two men told police the man approached them with a machete and demanded their belongings. The victims gave him their phones and then contacted police shortly after.
Police said one of the victim's phones could be tracked, and in collaboration with Washington University officers, the suspect was found in the 100 block of Newstead.
The suspect was taken into custody, and police said the investigation is ongoing. The victims were reportedly not injured during the robbery.
