SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Four people are in police custody after a Sunday morning police pursuit of a stolen vehicle led to a crash and a foot pursuit. A K-9 was able to help stop at least one of the suspects after they took off running from police, San Diego Police reports.

Officers with the San Diego Police Department attempted to pull over a white Ford truck after it was detected as stolen on the license plate reader in the area of Coronado Avenue and Interstate 5 in the Nestor area around 11 a.m. Sunday.

Police say the driver took off from the traffic stop and led police on a pursuit onto SR-905 east, then to the I-805 north to SR-54 east, and exited on Woodman Street in the Bay Terrace area.

The stolen truck crashed into two parked vehicles in the area of Woodman Street and Alta View Drive, and the occupants of the truck took off running.

Police released a K-9, which bit one of the suspects that was running from the stolen vehicle. That person was taken to the hospital for treatment of a dog bite.

In total, San Diego Police report four people were taken into custody. Their identities and any charges have not yet been released to the public.
