DENVER (KDVR) — A multi-vehicle crash had closed the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 in Lakewood, however, all lanes have since reopened.
At 8:24 a.m. on Wednesday, the Lakewood Police Department posted on X that officers were investigating a multi-car crash on eastbound I-70 near Denver West Marriott Boulevard.
Lakewood police told FOX31 that it is still an active scene and it is unclear how many cars were involved, however, there appears to have been some injuries. More details on the status of the victims will be released at a later time.
Police said all eastbound lanes were closed on I-70 before Colfax Avenue. The interstate reopened at 9:30 a.m.
The Pinpoint Weather team said the Wednesday morning commute would be messy due to heavy, wet snow that began overnight Tuesday. A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day was issued due to the deteriorating conditions.
However, the snow is expected to taper off in the metro area by the afternoon and evening hours.
