SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The public is being advised to avoid an area of San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood Wednesday morning due to scaffolding failure, according to emergency officials. The San Francisco Fire Department said that the failure is likely wind-related.
Public safety crews responded to the 1900 block of Broadway at 7 a.m. on the report of scaffolding failure. No injuries have been reported in connection to the incident, SFFD said.
The National Weather Service told fire officials that wind gusts in the impacted area are hitting 30 miles per hour. Much of the San Francisco Bay Area is under a red flag warning through Thursday morning due to critical fire weather conditions, which includes the high winds.
There is no estimated time for resolving the issue, SFFD said at 8:12 a.m. The San Francisco Department of Building Inspection and the construction contractor are on site working to mitigate the scaffolding failure.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
