AUSTIN (KXAN) — Former President Donald Trump will be in the Texas capital Friday, holding a press conference near the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and joining podcaster Joe Rogan to record an episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience."

Trump is poised to discuss border security and migrant crime during a presser at Million Air, located at 4801 Emma Browning Ave. near the South Terminal of the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. His press conference is set to begin at 12:30 p.m., per event details.

An AUS spokesperson said passengers at the Barbara Jordan Terminal aren't expected to be affected by his visit, but "South Terminal travelers may see roadway impacts on Emma Browning." A spokesperson for the Texas Department of Transportation added Secret Service and local law enforcement oversee motorcade and road closures, but residents can expect "major roadways, including those in and around the airport, will be impacted."

Trump is now flagged by a heightened number of Secret Service agents and security details following assassination attempts against the former president, according to late September reporting from NBC News. Vice President Kamala Harris is also seeing heightened safety protocol amid her campaigning as the Democratic presidential nominee, per NBC.

Alongside Trump's press conference near AUS is his appearance on "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast. Rogan, an Austin resident since 2020, typically records in his studio at his Lake Austin home.

While his exact travel time and route isn't known for security reasons, the typical route between AUS and the Lake Austin area involves driving along State Hwy. 71 to U.S. Hwy. 290 and then up along Loop 360.
