Austin man dies following 18-wheeler collision in New Braunfels
A pedestrian died Thursday morning in New Braunfels after being struck by an 18-wheeler.
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (KXAN) — A pedestrian died Thursday morning in New Braunfels after being struck by an 18-wheeler.
According to the City of New Braunfels, first responders arrived at the scene in the 6000 block of Interstate 35 South and found a man with fatal injuries from the collision. The man was identified as 31-year-old Austin Michael Arp, of Austin.
According to the city, the driver of the 18-wheeler was uninjured in the incident. Officials said the crash remains under investigation; however, no charges are expected to be filed.
A portion of I-35 was closed in the area for approximately three hours for an accident reconstruction investigation performed by the city's police department.
