ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Halloween is just around the corner, which means kids and adults alike will soon be munching on their favorite chocolates, gummies, and other sweet treats. A recent survey conducted by Holiday Calendar revealed the five most popular Halloween candies among New Yorkers.
According to the survey, Kit Kat is New York's favorite Halloween candy overall. Skittles, Snickers, Starburst, and Twix rounded out the state's top five.
The only other state besides New York in which Kit Kat was the number one candy was Hawaii. The poll surveyed 3,500 people across the country between October 1 and October 15.
The results showed that Skittles was the most common top candy by far, being the overall favorite in 22 states. The second most prevalent favorite was Snickers, with nine states reporting it as their number one Halloween sweet.
