Firefighters are battling a 3-4 acre brush fire behind homes in Fallbrook. An evacuation warning is in place for the area of Lake Circle Drive and Lake View Way.

Evacuation orders lifted for brush fire in Fallbrook

FALLBROOK, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Firefighters were busy battling a brush fire behind a residential neighborhood in Fallbrook Monday afternoon, and an evacuation warning was in place for nearby homes for over an hour.

Fire crews were battling a 5 acre brush fire -- dubbed the Circle Fire -- that broke out in the 5000 block of Lake Circle Road in Fallbrook around 2 p.m. Monday.

At 2:20 p.m. Monday, the San Diego County Sheriff's Office issued an evacuation warning for the area of Lake Circle Drive and Lake View Way in Fallbrook as the fire was burning directly behind homes. All evacuation warnings issued were lifted as of 3:40 p.m.

A road closure was in place on Dulin Road and Lake Circle Drive.

The North County Fire Protection District said firefighters were able to stop the forward rate of spread at 5 acres.
