Courier fired after leaving unattended ballots outside Edina City Hall

KSTP reports Hennepin County has fired a courier who left multiple boxes of ballots unsecured outside Edina City Hall Friday. “Hennepin County is describing those boxes as “sealed transfer cases” that were inside a courier vehicle parked at Edina City Hall. Surveillance video released by the city shows the rear door of the van open for about eight minutes.”

McMillian, 64, of Minneapolis filed a legal claim against the city for emotional distress, and on Monday, a Minneapolis City Council committee will consider paying him $30,000 in a settlement out of the city’s self-insurance fund.”

KARE reports more Minnesotans are voting absentee than in past elections. “As of Oct. 17, more than 337,000 absentee ballots have already been accepted statewide. That many more have been sent to voters but haven’t been returned and accepted yet.”

Fox9 reports a fire in downtown Rice Lake, Wisc. Has destroyed multiple small businesses.
