Chatham man charged in shooting of 11-year-old boy after traffic accident in Wicker Park
A Chatham neighborhood man was charged after turning himself for shooting an 11-year-old boy after a minor traffic accident in the Wicker Park neighborhood, Chicago police said. The accident happened shortly before 8:30 a.m. Dec. 13 in the 1400 block of North Western Avenue. A Chatham neighborhood man was charged after turning himself in for shooting an 11-year-old boy after a minor traffic accident in the Wicker Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.
The accident happened shortly before 8:30 a.m. Dec. 13 in the 1400 block of North Western Avenue. Earlier, police said the boy suffered a gunshot wound to the hand when shots were fired following a minor traffic accident that happened in the Wicker Park neighborhood.
Jeston Harris, 27, turned himself in Dec. 22 at a police station on the Far South Side and was charged with aggravated battery discharge of a weapon, and four counts of aggravated assault discharge of a firearm, police said.
Harris was scheduled to appear at a detention hearing Tuesday.
