(KRON) -- The Cal Fire San Mateo - Santa Cruz Unit has contained a one-acre blaze on Highway 17 near Glenwood and Summit roads. Cal Fire confirmed at 9:02 p.m. Saturday that forward progress on the fire had been stopped.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Santa Cruz Division reported that the far-right lane of southbound SR-17 at Glenwood Cutoff is closed due to the fire, with no estimate on when it will reopen.
At 7:48 p.m. Saturday, Cal Fire posted a video of the blaze, urging drivers to use alternate routes. In the post, Cal Fire stated that “fire traffic is working in the area and more resources are arriving,” and noted that power lines are also down.
The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Department announced that it was conducting evacuations in Alta Vista, though no other evacuations have been reported.
