One person was taken into custody Friday afternoon after they allegedly threw a bottle at Los Angeles Police Department officers following the L.A. Dodgers World Series parade which brought hundreds of thousands of people into the city center.

Video from Sky5 showed police officers in tactical gear marching in formation along the parade route where some rowdy fans remained after the parade had cleared.

Police later announced on social media that one person threw a bottle at officers and was arrested after being chased down.

That person is expected to be booked into jail and faces possible charges for assault with a deadly weapon on an officer, police added.

The streets of downtown L.A. swelled with activity Friday as the Dodgers held their first World Series parade in nearly 40 years; estimates about the amount of people that filled the streets ranged from 200,000 people to 1 million or more.

Aside from the arrest, there were few reports about disorderly conduct near the parade route.

Days earlier, after the Dodgers' World Series-clinching win in Game 5, unruly fans took to the streets, taking over street intersections for impromptu vehicle tricks and street racing, and even set fire to an LA Metro bus.

Police officials urged those remaining in downtown to follow instruction, and asked drivers to be extra cautious while city crews were in the area.
