Army: Ft. Leonard Wood soldier's death to be investigated as homicide

FT. LEONARD WOOD, Mo. - Sgt. Sarah Roque, a soldier who was reported missing from the U.S. Army's Fort Leonard Wood facility in Missouri earlier this week, was found dead on Tuesday.

Officials are investigating her death as a homicide, according to a report from Nexstar affiliate KOLR.

Roque was 23 years old and a member of the 5th Engineer Battalion.

During a Thursday news conference, officials reported her body was found inside a dumpster. Army officials did not disclose her cause of death.

According to TaskandPurpose.com, a military news website, officials report that a person of interest has been identified and is wanted for questioning. Additional details around the person of interest, however, were not disclosed.
