The suspect was allegedly using two homes to manufacture ghost guns.

Albany man charged with having at least 10 firearms

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- State Police arrested an Albany man on Wednesday following a year-long investigation led by the Special Investigations Unit's Albany Gun Trafficking Interdiction Unit. Troopers said Demetrio Daga, 51, was found with a loaded ghost handgun and was manufacturing ghost guns in his home with 3D printers and various gun parts.

Daga was allegedly using two homes to manufacture ghost guns. State Police reported finding the following in these homes:

  • 13 ghost handguns
  • 22 AR-Style ghost assault rifles
  • 18 serialized AR-style assault rifles
  • Two pump-style shotguns
  • Over 200 3D-printed lower handgun receivers and rifle frames
  • Thousands of rounds of various ammunition
  • Numerous high-capacity magazines in various calibers
  • Miscellaneous gun parts and gun manufacturing devices
  • Computers, documents, and other electronic devices associated with manufacturing ghost guns
  • Body armor

State Police charged Daga with first-degree criminal possession of 10 or more firearms and second-degree criminal possession of a loaded firearm. Daga was placed in the custody of Albany County Jail without bail and will appear in court on Monday at 10 a.m.
