DENVER (KDVR) — A shelter-in-place has been issued by the Sable Altura Fire Department due to a fire at a potentially dangerous facility, the department announced in a social media post.

Sable Altura fire is on the scene at 1909 Powhaton Rd. Powhaton Road has been closed in all directions.

The fire occurred at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and is believed to have started from a tank fire with flames coming out of a pressure release valve, according to the agency.

The shelter-in-place was issued due to the "nature of the facility."

Bennett-Watkins and the Aurora Fire Department are assisting at the site.
