The Yankees made a minor deal with the rival Astros on Monday, trading Taylor Trammell to Houston.

The Athletic’s Chandler Rome first reported the trade. The New York Post’s Joel Sherman added that the Yankees are receiving cash considerations for the outfielder.

It’s been a busy week for the former first-round pick, as Trammell has a World Series ring coming his way despite being in the Yankees’ system. The 27-year-old played in five major league games for the Dodgers earlier this season before matching that total with the Bombers.

Trammell went 1-for-7 between the two teams. His only hit came in his only at-bat with the Yankees, giving him a 1.000 average for his short-lived tenure with the team.

A lefty swinger, Trammell spent most of the 2024 season with the Yankees’ Triple-A team. There, he hit .256/.381/.488 with 18 home runs, 63 RBI and 20 stolen bases over 106 games.

Trammell, who has also played for Seattle, is a .167 hitter over 126 major league games. The Yankees added Trammell to their 40-man roster on Sunday, preventing him from hitting free agency.

Rather than lose him for nothing, the Yankees were able to then trade Trammell the following day.
