Worldcoin Community Achieves 6 Million Verified Members, Extends Token Redemption

• The Worldcoin Foundation has extended the redemption period for its WLD grant reservations by one year to July 31, 2025.

• The Worldcoin community has grown to six million verified users.

The Worldcoin Foundation has announced an extension for the redemption period of its WLD grant reservations, allowing an additional year for participants to claim their tokens. This extension is designed to increase the distribution of the Worldcoin project, giving people more time to confirm their World IDs and get their reserved tokens. After the launch of Worldcoin, the Foundation established a system for WLD grant reservations. This was a program that intended to allow persons with no verified World ID to book WLD tokens for future release.

Although the Foundation had already set the date, it has extended this deadline by one year. As a result, all WLD grant reservations made between July 24, 2023, and July 31, 2024, will remain valid and can be used until July 31, 2025. This extension allows for more time for the participants to interact with the Worldcoin project and for those who are interested in decentralized digital identity and cryptocurrency to have a chance to participate. 

Additionally, the Worldcoin community has expanded phenomenally, with six million verified people. This marked growth is attributed to the rising adoption of decentralized digital identity and cryptocurrency technologies. 

Worldcoin Developer Preview Initiative

The announcement coincides with Worldcoin’s recently unveiled developer preview, inviting developers to build on its platform in anticipation of the summer mainnet launch.  Worldcoin is now inviting developers to come and use and create on the World Chain platform. This chance enables developers to contribute their codes to Tools for Humanity and have a chance of getting their tool used by more than 10 million people in 160 countries.

To draw the developers, Worldcoin emphasized its technical aspects and its preparedness for Reth. Reth is a high-performance Ethereum execution client developed by Paradigm that has gained popularity due to its ease of use, modularity, speed, and efficiency.

In addition, through this feature, Worldcoin wants to establish itself as a revolutionary protocol that can cater to complex and sophisticated applications. 

To tackle the issue of scalability, Worldcoin says that its platform can process twice the traffic of the Optimism network it relies on. This is done through the use of gas target settings, which may give developers a more reliable foundation for constructing and expanding their applications. 

As mentioned in our previous news brief, Worldcoin announced partnerships with established firms such as Alchemy, Safe, and Elliptic to strengthen its ecosystem, with promises of more collaborations to be revealed in the coming weeks.
