Woman, 56, found dead in Brooklyn apartment was beaten: Medical Examiner
NYPD detectives are investigating the death of Idell Holloway as a homicide after an autopsy revealed she died from massive blunt force injuries to her head and torso.
A 56-year-old woman who died after being found unconscious in a Brooklyn apartment had been beaten to death, police said Saturday.
NYPD detectives are investigating the death of Idell Holloway as a homicide after an autopsy revealed she died from massive blunt force injuries to her head and torso.
Cops were called to an apartment on Sackman St. near Belmont Ave. — part of NYCHA’s Low Houses — at about 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 16 and found Holloway unconscious on the floor.
EMS rushed her to Brookdale University Medical Center, where she died.
Holloway lives in the Low Houses but in a different building from where she was found, police said.
She suffered bleeding on the brain and fractures to her pelvis and ribs during the beating, an evaluation by the city’s Medical Examiner revealed.
Police declared her death a homicide on Monday after receiving the medical examiner’s report.
No arrests have been made.
