Winning Powerball ticket sold in Southern California

A Powerball ticket sold in Lake Elsinore was the state's biggest winner in the most recent lottery drawing, but came just short of winning the ultimate prize.

The ticket, sold at a Chevron station on the 25300 block of Railroad Canyon Road, hit on five of five lotto numbers, but missed the Powerball that would've given the owner the grand prize of $437 million.

Still, the lucky ticket owner will still be entitled to the second prize of nearly $250,000.

The Lake Elsinore ticket was the only ticket in the state to hit all five primary numbers in Saturday's Powerball drawing.

The winning numbers were 7, 16, 19, 45, 64 and the Powerball of 25.

One other person, playing a ticket purchased in Pennsylvania, also matched five of five numbers, missing only the Powerball.

The winner of this week's highest Powerball payout will have 180 days to come forward and claim it. In the event a player wins the ultimate jackpot, they will have an entire year to get their affairs in order before coming forward.

The Powerball draws every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday; the jackpot ahead of Monday's drawing is estimated to be around $456 million.
