The White Sox signed outfielder Mike Tauchman to a one-year major league deal Monday, a source confirmed to the Sun-Times.The left-handed hitting Tauchman, 33, appeared in 109 games in 2024, batting .248/.357/.366 with seven home runs in his second season on the North Side.Tauchman, who plays three outfield positions, is a Palatine native and Fremd High School graduate who also played for the Rockies, Yankees and Giants. Tauchman, who was projected to earn $2.9 million in arbitration in 2025, was not tendered a contract by the Cubs. On Monday afternoon at the Winter Meetings, general manager Chris Getz said he wanted to add in right field, and hours later the deal was reported.The Sox signed right-handed hitting outfielder Austin Slater, 31, to a one-year contract last week.
