Westerlo man charged with child sex abuse image possession

WESTERLO, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- New York State Police alongside the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce announced the arrest of a Westerlo man on Friday. Kyle Sweet, 37, is facing multiple charges after a sex crime investigation.
Sweet is accused of owning images consistent with child sexual exploitation. His arrest followed an investigation with police executing a search warrant at his Westerlo home on Friday, which stemmed from an online tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Charges:
- Promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony
- Possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony
Sweet turned himself into New Scotland state police, where he was arrested and processed on his charges. He was later arraigned at the Westerlo Town Court and released on a $30,000 bail bond.
