Waterford man accused of grand larceny arrested
State Troopers arrested a Waterford man on Thursday for an alleged grand larceny. Troopers said Caleb Dejong, 19, is facing multiple charges.
CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- State Troopers arrested a Waterford man on Thursday for an alleged grand larceny. Troopers said Caleb Dejong, 19, is facing multiple charges.
Troopers responded to a call about two cars being stolen from a Halfmoon business at 9:41 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 4. Troopers said a man, who later was identified as Dejong, damaged part of the business's building to get the keys to the vehicles, which were found unoccupied in Halfmoon later in the day.
Troopers recovered the cars and found one of the vehicles to be missing the license plates. Dejong was arrested in Clifton Park by New York State Police and turned over to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office for separate and unrelated charges.
Charges
- Two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny
- Third-degree criminal mischief
- Petit larceny
Dejong was arraigned in Halfmoon Town Court on all charges before being turned over to the Albany Police Department for additional pending charges. According to Albany Police, while in custody, Dejong escaped his holding cell for an hour before he was retaken into custody.
