VIDEO: Emeryville PD looking for apartment mail theft duo

(KRON) – The Emeryville Police Department is looking for two suspects who were caught on camera stealing mail from an Emeryville apartment mailroom. 

On Nov. 24, two suspects stuffed mail from numerous mailboxes, at The Oak Walk apartments, into a large bag and then fled the scene.  

The male suspect was wearing a black hooded jacket and blue jeans with black and white. The female suspect was wearing a red jacket, jeans, and red shoes. She was wearing a black purse and a gray hat. 

Anyone with information regarding the suspects is asked to contact the Emeryville Police Department’s non-emergency line at (510) 596-3700.

The department shared tips for residents to secure their mail:

• Check for mail and packages as soon as possible.
• Grab your items as soon as they arrive to prevent theft.
• Use insured, signed or locker delivery.
• Sign up for USPS mail tracking, which is a free service that tracks your packages in real-time.
• Check with your leasing office. If you’re missing something, ask if they have case report numbers for any missing mail or packages during your timeframe.
