ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - One man is facing felony charges following an incident where he allegedly pushed a victim out of his car traveling at 80 mph.

According to court documents, Samuel Boyd (age not specified) was with another individual at the 6200 block of Washington Ave. in Berkeley on Nov. 24. The person asked Boyd for a ride home, to which he agreed.

However, Boyd drove to a liquor store in St. Louis City, purchased alcohol, then met with his friends at his cousin's roadside memorial, all while the victim continuously asked to be taken home.

Records state that Boyd then put his hands down the victim's pants. The victim told him to stop and continued to ask to be taken home.

Boyd went on to drive for another hour. While driving along Airport Road at 80 mph, Boyd "became upset" and proceeded to push the victim out of the vehicle. Boyd told officials that he couldn't go back to help the victim because his phone died.

A passerby found the victim and called for an ambulance. The victim was transported to the hospital with a broken hand and a brain injury.

Boyd was identified in a lineup given to the victim, and he admitted that he was supposed to give the victim a ride home and instead drove to a liquor store and the memorial.

Boyd is charged with first-degree assault and first-degree kidnapping, both Class A felonies. He is being held on a $250,000 cash-only bond.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 18.
