Victim identified in Tenderloin Halloween Eve fatal shooting

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has officially identified the victim of a fatal Halloween Eve shooting in the city’s Tenderloin neighborhood.

William Edward Clark, 64, died from injuries sustained in the shooting at Ellis and Jones Streets on Oct. 30, confirmed the medical examiner's office.

The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) said officers arrived at the scene at 6:11 p.m., and discovered Clark on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

SFPD said this is an open and active case. Anyone with information is asked to call 415-575-4444 or text TIP411, starting the message with ‘SFPD.’
